Apple - QuickTime

READ THE BOTTOM. DO NOT, I repeat, NOT update to qt 6.0.2

Note to DVD Studio Pro and Final Cut Pro Users:
DVD Studio Pro users and Final Cut Pro users should not update to QuickTime 6 via download at this time. Final Cut Pro version 3.0.2 and DVD Studio Pro version 1.5.1 are qualified for use with QuickTime 6 included in Mac OS X v10.2.

Greetings all!

Hope your October is going well.

This months meeting will be at:
SpringBoard Media
2212 Walnut Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103

We’re going to start at 7pm promptly (so plan to show up at 6:30).

On Wednesday October 30th (no Halloween conflicts), but note the change – Wednesday, not Thursday.

General Agenda:
News
Troubleshooting
A demo of Xpress DV
Some general pointers about getting good audio.

As always we’re giving away great stuff – we gave away over $250 worth of prizes at the September meeting. We ask respectfully for a $5 donation.

Don’t forget to check out our blog full of news and tips
http://phillyfcpug.blogspot.com

And drop me an email if you’d like to help with the blog or suggestions (future meetings, screenings, etc.)

See you then.

Jeff Greenberg

P.S. We also ask that you RSVP this month to here, so we can plan to have enough chairs.

Apple - SuperDrive Update - Software Download

Here's the superdrive update you need if you have an apple DVD-R and want to use the newer high speed media.

Right now it only has the update for the iMac (the g4's were pulled) but check back at this link!

AppleCare Document: 106214

Using Disk Utility and fsck for File System Maintenance.

There is a new way to startup in OSX called safe mode with the shift key as well.

While not immediately FCP related...sooner or later, we all have computer problems. This is a must-read.
